Compare at Home

Dear Family,

Tonight your child will teach you how to play the card game Compare. Please cut apart the attached set of cards to make a deck of Primary Number Cards. Please help your child find a place to keep this deck of cards so they can be used for future homework games.

Play Compare with a partner.

  • 1 Deal the cards facedown.

  • 2 Both players turn over the top card.

  • 3 The player with the larger number says “Me!” and takes the cards. If the cards are the same, both players turn over another card.

    Two number cards. d
  • 4 Keep turning over cards. Each time, the player with the larger number says “Me!” and takes the cards.

  • 5 The game is over when there are no more cards to turn over.

NOTE

Students compare two numbers and determine which is larger.
